According to Lookonchain, each of these wallets received 50 BTC in April 2010, when Bitcoin mining was just starting to develop. These addresses received a reward for mining blocks at the dawn of the cryptocurrency. Today, all the bitcoins from these wallets have been combined and transferred to two new SegWit addresses.

When the coins were received in 2010, their value was symbolic - about $0.75 for the entire volume (at a price of about $0.003 per 1 BTC). The energy costs for mining were minimal back then, since mining was carried out on regular processors with low power consumption.

It is worth recalling that this is not the first case of long-term inactive wallets waking up. On July 17, a large “whale” that had not made transactions since 2011 was noticed — it transferred 80,000 BTC to eight new addresses. In addition, on July 24, an address associated with one of the early users sent 3,962 BTC to a new wallet.

Such movements are of great interest to analysts and the crypto community, as they may indicate the activity of the owners of old savings or other significant events in the world of Bitcoin. The amounts and timing of the “awakening” suggest that these funds may have an impact on the market and cause a wave of new transactions.

Thus, addresses that have been “sleeping” for many years are again coming to the surface, reminding us of the beginning of the cryptocurrency era and continuing to influence the modern crypto market.
