Worldcoin will dedicate the next year to mass production of Orb retinal scanning devices. This was stated by co-founder of the project Alex Blania in The Scoop podcast.
A number of manufacturers will take part in the creation of devices - from small companies to technology giants. According to Blania, production incentives will be built into Worldcoin tokenomics.
“It will be like mining bitcoin (BTC). Producers will be able to earn WLD tokens with every Orb they create and put into production,” he explained.
Blania also commented on criticisms of WLD tokenomics. He noted that the project could not distribute more than 10% of the coins and said that market makers are not interested in maintaining asset quotes at the same level.
Auditors found a number of vulnerabilities in Worldcoin
Back in May, CertiK experts discovered a vulnerability in Worldcoin that could potentially allow hackers to compromise user data and bypass the identity verification process. Later, the project team confirmed the problem and took a number of actions to fix it.
The Nethermind auditor identified 26 protocol security issues. At the verification stage, 24 (92.6%) of them were corrected. Least Authority found three issues and provided six proposals, all of which have been resolved or are about to be resolved.
However, regulators still express concerns about the safety of user data on the platform.
The German authorities began proceedings against the American startup back in November 2022. The British Information Commissioner's Office is also looking into the project's activities. The French data protection regulator (CNI) has questioned the legality of collecting user biometric data, and the Kenyan Ministry of the Interior has suspended Worldcoin's local operations.
