Solana Mobile officially began shipping its new crypto smartphone Seeker on August 4. The first devices have already been sent to customers in 57 countries. The new product is the successor to the Saga model, but is offered at a more attractive price of $450 to $500, which has attracted over 150,000 pre-orders. This could provide the company with revenue of at least $67.5 million.

The Seeker smartphone runs Android and is aimed at crypto users. It is equipped with a secure Seed Vault for private keys, a built-in dApp Store with over a hundred applications (including DeFi services, games, and payment systems), as well as an NFT asset Genesis Token, which opens access to exclusive projects and new SKR tokens.

The architecture of the device is based on the TEEPIN system. It is responsible for decentralized access control to device functions and application distribution. Cryptographic attestation is also used, which increases software security and eliminates the risk of installing malicious applications.

Solana Mobile announced that the upcoming updates are planned to introduce support for AI functions and integration with DePin services. These innovations are designed to make Seeker a more flexible tool for users of Web3 ecosystems.

The Saga model, which preceded Seeker, was released in 2023 at a price of $ 1,000, but due to low demand - only 20,000 units were sold - the price was reduced to $ 599. After that, thanks to free distribution of two meme coins, the smartphone quickly sold out in the US and Europe.

However, the launch of Saga was not without problems. Analysts from CertiK discovered a serious vulnerability that could potentially allow cryptocurrency to be stolen from the device. Despite this, the developers assured that there is no threat to users.

The new model takes into account the mistakes of the past: Seeker received an improved AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.36 inches, 108 and 32 megapixel cameras, as well as a battery with an increased operating time - especially for Web3-based applications.

Thus, Seeker is an attempt by Solana Mobile to enter a more mass market of crypto devices, providing users with both functionality and reliable protection of digital assets.
