From August 11 to 17, 2025, Strategy acquired 430 BTC, spending $51.4 million on it. This was reported by the company's co-founder Michael Saylor. As a result, the total volume of bitcoins in the company's accounts reached an impressive 629,376 BTC.
Strategy's total investments in the first cryptocurrency exceeded $46.15 billion. The average purchase price was $73,320 per coin. If we evaluate the current volume of assets at market value, the company's portfolio is valued at more than $72.7 billion.
According to Saylor, since the beginning of 2025 alone, the return on investments in bitcoin has amounted to 25.1%. This confirms the company's strategy, which is betting on the long-term growth of the digital asset, despite its volatility. At the time of publication, Bitcoin is trading at $115,589 per unit.
Thus, Strategy maintains its status as the largest institutional owner of Bitcoin among public companies. The company's policy since the first BTC purchases in 2020 has been to regularly purchase the asset, regardless of short-term market fluctuations.
However, not all analysts share Saylor's optimism. Recently, Damped Spring Advisors CEO and CIO Andy Constant criticized Strategy's strategy, calling its model a "Ponzi scheme" that depends on the growth of the Bitcoin rate. According to him, a drop in the price can lead to significant losses and weaken the company's financial stability.
Despite the criticism, Strategy continues to follow its chosen course. The accumulated volume of BTC makes the company a noticeable player in the cryptocurrency market, and each new acquisition strengthens its influence.
Experts note that such a strategy is beneficial in the context of a long-term bullish trend. At the same time, the risks of significant drawdowns also remain high, which has repeatedly become a cause for discussion among investors.
Nevertheless, Saylor has repeatedly emphasized that Bitcoin is not considered a short-term speculative instrument, but a long-term asset capable of protecting capital from inflation and traditional market risks.
In the near future, the market's attention will be focused on the dynamics of the BTC rate and possible new steps by Strategy. Given the company's sequence of actions, experts do not rule out further purchases even with a price correction.
Thus, the August acquisition once again confirmed Strategy's strategy - to form the largest Bitcoin reserve among public companies and maintain leadership in this area, despite external criticism and market fluctuations.
