Amdax has announced the formation of a new structure called AMBTC BV, which will manage bitcoin reserves. According to the plan, in the future, the organization will be able to accumulate up to 1% of the total BTC supply. In quantitative terms, we are talking about approximately 199,000 coins out of the available 19.9 million, which is equivalent to more than $ 22 billion today.
Despite the independence of AMBTC BV, business ties will remain between it and Amdax. The company is currently preparing the first investment round and simultaneously working on the upcoming listing of shares on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange. The initial public offering will be the main tool for raising funds that will be used to purchase bitcoins. The specific parameters of the IPO, including the issue size and the composition of investors, will be disclosed later.
If the plan is implemented, AMBTC BV will become the second-largest corporate holder of Bitcoin in the world and the largest in Europe. This will strengthen its position amid growing institutional interest in crypto assets.
At the time of publication, the BTC rate is below $115,000. Despite the current price fluctuations, the company's strategic goal is calculated for the long term. The management of AMBTC BV believes that such a large reserve will provide a significant competitive advantage.
Amdax has already established itself as a significant player in the cryptocurrency industry. It was the first company in the Netherlands to receive approval from the country's Central Bank to provide virtual asset services, and later a MiCA license from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). These approvals have ensured its status as a reliable partner for institutional and private clients.
According to analysts, the total Bitcoin reserves of global corporations have exceeded 1.1 million BTC. The entry of AMBTC BV into this segment can significantly change the balance of power. The implementation of the initiative will strengthen Europe's position in the corporate digital asset ownership market, which has so far been largely controlled by American companies.
Thus, Amdax's new initiative reflects not only its desire to take a leading position in the market, but also the general trend towards the institutionalization of cryptocurrencies. If AMBTC BV succeeds in achieving its stated goal, this will be one of the largest steps towards integrating Bitcoin into corporate capital management strategies.
