The L2 platform Linea from ConsenSys has launched a service that allows you to check whether your wallet is included in the list for participation in the LINEA token airdrop. You can receive distributed assets from September 10 to December 9.

The distribution volume will be 9.36 billion LINEA, which will be received by 749,662 addresses. The list includes users of the Linea Voyage (LXP) and Linea Surge (LXP-L) campaigns. A snapshot of the airdrop wallets was taken in July.

A seven-tier accrual system is in effect for the LXP category. Rewards are distributed taking into account a number of factors: early activity on the main network, regular use of Linea and MetaMask products, as well as long-term interaction with the ecosystem. LXP-L participants will receive a reward proportional to the amount of their contribution.

Of the total number of tokens, 85% are intended for the development of the ecosystem. Of these, 10% are allocated to early adopters and developers, and 75% will be directed to a ten-year fund managed by the Linea Consortium, which includes ConsenSys, Eigen Labs, ENS and other partners.

The remaining 15% are assigned to ConsenSys and will be in a five-year lockup. However, the project team and investors will not receive direct tokens. The ecosystem does not provide for governance through voting by holders - key decisions are made by the consortium.

Project manager Declan Fox said that when preparing the airdrop, the team excluded more than 800,000 sybil addresses using Proof-of-Humanity technology.

Linea's official blog described the new asset as an addition to Ethereum, comparing it to "silver to ETH gold" or "Chewbacca to ETH's Han Solo."

After the token launches, the network's fee distribution model will change: 20% of ETH payments will be burned at the protocol level, and 80% will be used to buy back and remove LINEA from circulation. This mechanism will make the asset deflationary.

Earlier, in January, the Linea Association excluded 516,960 addresses from the total of 1.29 million from the airdrop candidates. This was one of the first stages of cleaning up the participant base.
