The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information on the location of a Ukrainian citizen involved in organizing attacks on global companies. This was reported by the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine. According to law enforcement, the suspect is included in the list of the most wanted persons of the European Union and is under international search.

According to the National Police, during the special operation, a hacker group was neutralized that used the ransomware programs LockerGoga, MegaCortex, HIVE and Dharma. These viruses blocked access to corporate servers and demanded ransom in cryptocurrency, causing billions of dollars in damage to companies. In total, more than 1,000 servers in the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Norway, and the Netherlands were attacked, resulting in losses of over UAH 3 billion.

The operation against the group began in November 2023 with the participation of the Ukrainian cyber police, the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, and the Office of the Prosecutor General, together with Europol, Eurojust, and law enforcement agencies from the United States, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. During the investigation, the structure of the criminal network was fully revealed: from malware developers and corporate system hackers to money laundering operators.

Several members of the group have been detained in Ukraine, some of whom have already appeared in court, and one of the defendants has been extradited to the United States. The cyber police urges citizens to check the latest information on the Europol EU Most Wanted website and report wanted persons via the online form.

The department emphasized that international cooperation remains a key element in the fight against transnational cybercriminals and bringing them to justice. Earlier, in June 2025, the Ukrainian cyber police had already identified a member of an international hacker network and handed him over to the US authorities for trial.

Thus, active coordination of Ukrainian and foreign law enforcement agencies not only allows us to neutralize major cyber threats, but also stimulates international support in the fight against criminal networks, ensuring the protection of companies and financial systems around the world.
