The non-costodial wallet Rainbow announced the creation of a new asset called RNBW and simultaneously published an offer letter to acquire Clanker's launchpad. The team will allocate 4% of the total token supply for distribution, which is approximately 20% of the initial public offering (TGE) supply.

However, Clanker founder Jack Dishman denied this statement, noting that he had rejected the deal a week earlier. He claimed Rainbow representatives hinted that they would publish the offer letter if they received no response. Despite repeated refusals, the document was eventually released, causing dissatisfaction on the part of Clanker. Rainbow itself stated that the publication of the letter was not a threat.

Wallet representatives also emphasized that the rise in the Clanker token price demonstrates the community's positive attitude toward the possible merger. Indeed, after the news broke, the CLANKER price rose 70%, from $28 to $48, although it later declined to $32.76, according to CoinGecko.

Clanker functions as a launchpad for tokens in the Base ecosystem with Arbitrum support. According to Dune statistics, the platform has earned $39 million in fees alone.

In addition to the launch of the RNBW token, the Rainbow team unveiled a number of service updates. The app will feature real-time quotes, an instant balance update function, and improved charts. Perpetual futures trading based on the Hyperliquid platform will also be available.

The developers described these innovations as the beginning of the "third phase" of the wallet's development. Future plans for the project include support for additional networks and the integration of DeFi positions.

The context of the situation is reinforced by market announcements. In early September, Ethereum co-founder and ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin announced that MetaMask was also working on launching its own token. This reflects a trend where leading Web3 wallets are seeking to expand their ecosystems by issuing native digital assets.

Thus, the Rainbow announcement was both a product development step and a trigger for discussions around negotiating methods with Clanker, reflecting the intense competition in the Web3 infrastructure sector.
