Kraken Co-CEO Arjun Sethi announced the company's decision to donate $2 million to support organizations associated with advancing Donald Trump's policies. The funds will be distributed between two political action committees focused on digital finance and advocacy for the crypto industry.

The first portion of the donation will go to the Digital Freedom Fund, a foundation established in August by brothers Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, founders of Gemini. This fund aims to support freedom of financial innovation and oppose excessive regulation of the cryptocurrency market.

The second half of the donation will go to America First Digital. This committee is led by Jason Tilman, former executive director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and Christine Walker, former campaign manager for Senator Cynthia Lummis. The organization actively advocates for expanding opportunities for crypto investors and promoting the development of decentralized technologies in the US economy.

Arjun Sethi explained that the decision to support the initiative is based on the current state of the industry. He noted that progress is indeed visible in Congress: bills defining the structure of the cryptocurrency market are beginning to advance, and the general mood in Washington is shifting from caution and fear to a desire to understand the nature of digital assets. However, Sethi emphasized that the fundamental foundations of open finance remain under threat.

Kraken's co-chairman described the funding as an investment in protecting the interests of cryptocurrency users. He noted that this relates to the right to hold tokens without imposed restrictions and to freely use decentralized platforms. Sethi believes that these opportunities are key for those who value financial independence and control over their funds.

Interestingly, Arjun Sethi himself previously shared a personal experience, describing how he once got rid of his Bitcoin, a decision he later deeply regretted. This episode, according to Sethi, was a powerful lesson in how valuable digital assets can be in the long term.

Thus, Kraken is seeking not only to strengthen the crypto industry's political influence but also to assert its position on future regulation. Supporting Trump supporters who actively advocate for the development of the digital economy demonstrates the company's intention to actively participate in the development of the legislative framework and protect the interests of the crypto community.
