Wallet, a crypto wallet integrated into the Telegram interface, has announced the launch of a tokenized stock and ETF trading feature. This feature is being implemented using the xStocks platform from Backed Finance, whose services are already used by companies such as Kraken, Bybit, and Trust Wallet.
Through the service, you can purchase tokenized shares of Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, the S&P 500 index, and a number of other popular assets. xStocks developers emphasize that each token is backed by real shares and can be converted into physical assets if necessary. Trading will be available 24/7.
At first, the new feature is only available in the custodial version of Wallet, but the project team plans to add support for non-custodial wallets based on TON.
As of October 1, 2025, xStocks' tokenized share trading volume exceeded $4.7 billion, and the number of unique token holders exceeded 32,000.
Wallet is a product of The Open Platform (TOP). Despite its integration into Telegram's menu, the messenger's management clarifies that it is a third-party project and not owned by the team. TOP's founder is Andrey Rogozov, formerly the head of VKontakte. He joined the initiative in 2022, and the company is registered in Abu Dhabi and is developing an ecosystem linked to the TON blockchain. In 2024, Rogozov participated in the TOKEN 2049 conference in Dubai, where he spoke alongside Pavel Durov and Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino.
Other players are also launching similar products. For example, Ondo Finance and Robinhood offer solutions for trading tokenized shares. However, their services are subject to regional restrictions. The Ondo platform is unavailable to users in Russia, Canada, and China, while Robinhood offers such tokens only in its European division. However, none of these services, including xStocks, are available to US customers.
Wallet uses the term "select regions" in its announcement and warns that trading may be restricted depending on jurisdiction. Previously, the company had not imposed restrictions on Russians, and in July 2025, it announced its entry into the US market.
In addition to tokens linked to public companies, Robinhood issued stock equivalents of large private firms. This move prompted a response from OpenAI, which publicly stated that the tokens bearing its brand, offered on Robinhood, have no connection to the company itself and have not been approved by it.
Thus, competition in the tokenized securities market is intensifying, and integration into Wallet could make Telegram an even more attractive tool for users who combine messaging and financial services.
