Video hosting service Rumble, partially owned by Tether, is preparing to launch a new feature that allows viewers to tip content creators in cryptocurrency. The feature has been tested by lawyer and video blogger David Freiheit, and the full release is scheduled for mid-December 2025.
The service will support three digital assets: Bitcoin, USDT, and XAUT. According to Rumble, the integration is being implemented with the technical support of Tether, which owns approximately 48% of the company's shares. The video platform is listed on the Nasdaq under the ticker RUM.
Tether's investment in the project totaled approximately $775 million in 2024. At the time, the company announced that it views Rumble as a direct competitor to YouTube and intends to develop the platform's ecosystem with a focus on cryptocurrency tools. Tether specialists were actively involved in creating the crypto-chasing mechanism, which will allow users to directly support creators with digital assets.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino noted that the main goal of the initiative is to encourage the use of stablecoins among a wider audience in the United States. According to him, if Rumble's 51 million monthly users, the majority of whom reside in the United States, actively embrace digital currencies, it will be a significant step toward the mass adoption of crypto payments in a country with one of the most developed financial systems.
In addition to introducing this new feature, Rumble continues to strengthen its crypto assets. According to Bitcoin Treasuries, the company holds 210.8 BTC—approximately $23.6 million—as part of its strategy to build digital reserves.
Tether is also expected to issue a new stablecoin, USAT, designed specifically for the US market, in December 2025. This token will comply with US legislation, specifically the GENIUS Act, which regulates the issuance and use of digital assets in the country.
Rumble is thus gradually becoming one of the first major media platforms where the integration of cryptocurrency instruments goes beyond simple payments and becomes part of the interaction between creators and their audience. The launch of the Bitcoin tipping system could be an important step in the development of mass crypto payments in the video content segment and strengthen Tether's position as a key player in digital finance.
