The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has denied recent Reuters reports of its closure. Representatives of the organization stated that the information about the dissolution is false. "President Trump has a mandate from the people to modernize the federal government, reduce spending, and combat fraud and abuse," the DOGE emphasized.

According to the department, 78 contracts deemed wasteful were canceled over the past week, saving taxpayers $335 million. The organization also announced that it would soon publish another Friday update.

Previously, Reuters claimed that DOGE had effectively ceased to exist as a centralized structure. Reporters cited Scott Kupor, head of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), as saying that the department's functions had been partially transferred to OPM, and some employees had been transferred to new positions.

The Department of Energy and Geodesy was created after Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election to optimize federal spending. It was initially headed by billionaire Elon Musk. According to a presidential executive order, DOGE's mandate is set to last until July 2026.

Thus, despite media reports of its closure, DOGE continues to operate and demonstrates effectiveness in managing government contracts and expenditures, maintaining significant budget savings.
