Flare to host meetup at the University of Benin

Flare is a distributed network with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) integration, which converts smart contracts into instructions for computers to process. This allows the Flare network to run fully Turing-complete smart contracts, enabling a wide range of computational tasks with sufficient memory. The network integrates key features to create an ecosystem of decentralized applications.

The Flare consensus protocol is based on Avalanche and is compatible with the Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA) used in the XRPL and Stellar networks. The main difference is that network security is achieved without economic mechanisms like Proof of Stake (PoS), whereas in Ethereum, network security depends on token staking by validators.

The Spark network's native token (FLR) serves several functions: it protects the network from spam attacks, powers decentralized applications, receives data through on-chain oracles, and participates in protocol governance.
