Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, officially announced plans to launch its native SKR token in January 2026. The asset is intended to serve as the foundation for the financial and governance structure of the brand's entire device ecosystem. The total supply will be 10 billion SKR, with a significant portion distributed among the community.

According to the company, 30% of the total token supply will be allocated for airdrops for users. Another 25% is earmarked for strategic initiatives, product development, and partnership programs. 10% will be allocated to ensure liquidity and support the launch. A community treasury will also receive 10%. Solana Mobile will receive 15%, and Solana Labs will receive the remaining 10%.

SKR is positioned as the native token of the Solana Mobile ecosystem. It will be used in several key areas: staking, reward distribution, and governance decisions. Furthermore, the asset will become a key part of the Guardian Network architecture—a network of validators, organizations, and communities responsible for infrastructure stability, device verification, and the operation of the integrated dApps Store.

Solana Mobile itself will be the first participant in the Guardian Network. Helius Labs, Double Zero, Jito, Anza, and Triton One are slated to join the network as early as 2026. SKR holders will be able to delegate or lock their tokens with selected network participants, receiving various bonuses and additional rewards.

The project's tokenomics feature a linear inflation model aimed at incentivizing early adopters and stakers. In the first year, 10% of the total supply, or 1 billion SKR, will be released into circulation. After that, the annual issuance rate will decrease by 25% until it reaches 2% per year.

Solana Mobile emphasizes that SKR is intended as the foundation for a new mobile Web3 device economy. More detailed information about the token's mechanics and the ecosystem's operating principles will be revealed at the Solana Breakpoint conference, which will take place from December 11 to 13, 2025.

As a reminder, the Seeker smartphone, a new generation of Solana Mobile devices, began shipping in August 2025. The device is positioned as a fully-fledged Web3 smartphone with access to an ecosystem of decentralized applications, a built-in dApps Store, and tools for working with crypto assets. The launch of SKR is expected to be the next step in the development of this ecosystem and will strengthen its economic sustainability.
