Mubadala Capital, an alternative investment management platform, announced a collaboration with KAIO, a protocol specializing in the tokenization of real-world assets. The partners plan to jointly explore opportunities to provide qualified institutional and accredited investors with access to private strategies through KAIO's digital infrastructure, designed to meet strict regulatory requirements.

The company emphasizes the potential of this new model to improve the transparency and operational efficiency of processes that traditionally require significant time and resources. Mubadala Capital views this project as part of a long-term commitment to integrating technologies that can transform interactions with private markets and make them more accessible to global participants.

Fatima Al Nuaimi and Max Franzetti, heads of Mubadala Capital Solutions, noted that the collaboration reflects the company's commitment to expanding the institutional strategy segment using secure and technologically advanced mechanisms. They noted that KAIO's architecture ensures a high level of oversight and compliance, enabling the creation of new international channels for alternative asset trading.

KAIO already has significant experience tokenizing investment products for global players such as BlackRock, Brevan Howard, and Hamilton Lane. The company has also transferred over $200 million in institutional assets to the blockchain, demonstrating the increasing digitalization of traditional capital. KAIO CEO Shrey Rastogi emphasized that Mubadala Capital's move to such instruments confirms the industry's move toward a future where real assets become globally accessible without compromising compliance and investor protection.

The initiative is developing amid the rapid growth of the RWA and decentralized finance segments. According to analytics firm Next Generation NGPES, DeFi transaction volume could exceed $3 trillion by 2026, with the potential for tokenized assets estimated at up to $2 trillion. Analysts attribute the market expansion to the rapid development of hybrid financial instruments and growing demand from institutions.

NGPES's estimates are supported by other significant industry players. Real Vision analyst Jamie Coutts predicts the RWA market capitalization will grow to $1.3 trillion by 2030. Binance Research pegged a record high of $12 billion in 2024, and Coinbase reported a 245-fold increase in the sector's size in the summer of 2025, reaching $21 billion. Standard Chartered, meanwhile, expects the total tokenized asset market to reach $2 trillion by 2028.

Against this backdrop, the partnership between KAIO and Mubadala Capital is viewed by experts as an important step in developing an infrastructure capable of integrating traditional investment models and blockchain technologies into a single ecosystem.
