American lawyer and eco-activist - nephew of the thirty-fifth US President John F. Kennedy - Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. promised to ensure the inviolability of the rights to use and own bitcoins if he wins the 2024 US presidential election. The appeal of the politician was published in his microblog

"As president, I will make sure that your right to use and own bitcoin is inviolable. BTC is not only a tool to combat totalitarianism and manipulation in the financial market. Cryptocurrency also paves the way for a future in which state institutions will be more transparent and democratic," Kennedy Jr. noted.

The politician's promises were a response to the regulatory pressure faced by the crypto industry in the United States. In his opinion, the American authorities want to "strangle" bitcoin.

The politician's appeal was supported by many popular members of the crypto community, including Michael Sailor, the founder of MicroStrategy, the largest bitcoin investor among public companies.

Kennedy Jr.'s video also says that his state is ready to accept donations in cryptocurrency to promote the election campaign.

Recall that Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. is not the only crypto activist who is taking part in the race for the US presidency in 2024. Along with him, other members of the crypto community are also applying for the post - Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez.

As of the time of writing, DeSantis is one of the three most likely candidates for the US presidency in 2024. He is ahead of the current president of America, Joe Biden, and the former head of the United States, Donald Trump.
