Women have been found to be quite underrepresented in leadership roles in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry.

During the study, 50 crypto and blockchain companies were analyzed. Only 6% of CEOs were found to be women. Men occupy 94% of leadership positions.

Looking at broader positions, other than CEO, 77.6% were men and 22.4% were women. This is exactly what the imbalance shows, despite the fact that more and more women are taking leadership positions below the CEO.

Chainalysis is a leader in female engagement, with 46% of all leadership positions held by women. They are followed by BitOasis and Coinbase with 42% and 33% female leadership, respectively.

The report also explored the 50 most influential people in the Twitter cryptocurrency, while examining the report. Only 7 of them are women and 14% of known voices are women.

The female reach and engagement ranking was topped by Laya Heilpern and Brad Garlinghouse was the most attractive crypto influencer overall.

The most equal interaction of the sexes in the general use of cryptocurrency was observed in many developing countries. There was the smallest gap between men and women in Vietnam, at 6 percentage points. In countries such as Indonesia, Kenya and Colombia, women have been actively involved.

In Vietnam, more than 24% of women own cryptocurrencies, the highest in the world. The Philippines and India have praised the role of women in the crypto economy.

The data shows, in fact, that although men traditionally dominate cryptocurrencies, women are increasingly using digital currencies, especially in emerging markets. However, work is still needed to improve the reach of women in the upper echelons of crypto.
