Employees of the Cyber Police of Ukraine have detained malefactors involved in the activities of fraudulent call centers in Lviv, Odessa, Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih.

Offenders learned the confidential information of citizens of Ukraine - in particular, card details and codes from SMS messages to embezzle money. They also offered to invest in cryptocurrency.

It is reported that swindlers called citizens under the guise of employees of banks and mobile operators.

During the conversation, Ukrainians and foreigners were attracted to pseudo-investment projects with ultra-high incomes. To inspire confidence, the scammers used various manipulative techniques.

Law enforcement officers conducted 17 searches and found that about 800 people worked in call centers. Employees of the Cyber Police of Ukraine seized almost 900 pieces of computer equipment, mobile phones, SIM cards and documents.

Now investigative actions are being carried out to identify the organizers of fraudulent schemes and the amount of damage caused. Four criminal proceedings on fraud have been opened.

At the end of 2022, the Cyber Police solved more than 50% of crimes related to cryptocurrencies. In May 2023, the National Police conducted a joint operation with FBI agents to identify and neutralize illegal cryptocurrency exchanges.
