Marketing Director of the Binance crypto exchange Yi He commented on the regulatory status of the company in an interview with Bloomberg.
Despite the growing legal challenges, she remains optimistic and argues that Binance and regulators are not that far apart. Speaking about the current situation with cryptocurrency regulation, she noted that "if Binance is not compliant, then virtually no other global trading platform or offshore company is compliant" by the authorities.
According to Yi He, Binance respects regulators regardless of whether they support or oppose the development of cryptocurrency. She acknowledged that the rules are generally designed to protect investors and they are "unavoidable around the world."
At the same time, a misconception about the company can be explained by its unconventional methods of work. In particular, the lack of a headquarters makes it difficult to prosecute and regulate.
Relationship with Changpeng Zhao
Yi He rejected any comparison of her relationship with Binance boss Changpeng Zhao to the connection between former FTX crypto exchange CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and his former colleague Caroline Allison. According to her, the relationship between top managers "requires much more than romantic."
However, according to media reports, Yi He and Zhao were business and life partners. Journalists believe that they have a common son born in the United States. However, she described these assumptions as the desire of fans of a romantic relationship between two people, whether on screen or in real life.
Binance without Zhao
There were also rumors in the media about a possible change in the CEO of Binance. According to sources, Richard Tang is the favorite to replace the CEO in the event of Zhao's resignation. However, according to Yi He, Zhao's possible departure will not affect the company.
"I think we'll be fine," she concluded.
When asked by reporters about what the future holds for Binance without Zhao, Yi He replied that there are alternate managers undergoing training everywhere. Therefore, despite the reshuffle, the company is ready to withstand the current problems.
