Lawyers for ex-CEO FTX Sam Bankman-Fried filed a motion to change the preventive measure. They ask for SBF to be released pending trial because he cannot prepare for the trial.
This time the defense complained about poor WiFi. The appeal states that Bankman-Fried was not provided with sufficient access to the Internet.
In this regard, as stated in the petition, he lost time to familiarize himself with the case. Therefore, lawyers insist on changing the preventive measure to house arrest.
At the same time, according to lawyers, there is no other way to solve problems with the Internet. This is already the second appeal from the defense on this matter.
The court allowed Bankman-Fried to use a laptop in prison from 08:00 to 19:00. However, as stated in the petition, in practice these conditions are not met.
Before this, Sam Bankman-Fried complained about “inhumane” conditions of detention. According to the case file, they are that SBF was denied access to certain medications and a vegan menu.
The court took the ex-CEO of FTX into custody at the request of the prosecutor's office. Authorities accused him of trying to discredit prosecution witnesses.
