Ethereum Trails Behind in TPS
The TPS race took an unexpected twist as L2 - Base and zkSync Era secured the top positions, leaving Ethereum trailing behind. L2 - Base, in particular, saw a remarkable surge, recording 12.93 TPS, marking a significant 49.76% increase over the past week. On the other hand, zkSync Era, despite a minor dip of 4.98% over the same period, maintained a strong TPS of 12.62. In contrast, Ethereum struggled with a mere 10.18 TPS.
It's worth mentioning that Starknet, another prominent Layer 2 solution, closely followed the leaders with a TPS rate of 9.79. Meanwhile, other popular Layer 2 solutions like Arbitrum One and OP Mainnet posted results of 4.9 TPS and 2.98 TPS, respectively. Mantle, Immutable X, Linea, and dYdX also featured in the rankings, but they couldn't match the top contenders' performance.
Monthly Transaction Counts
When it comes to the total number of transactions processed in a month, Ethereum maintained its lead with 30.6 million transactions. zkSync Era closely trailed with 30.17 million transactions, while Base secured the third spot with 21.18 million transactions.
It's worth noting that Immutable X and Arbitrum One hold the records for the highest number of transactions per second. Immutable X processed a staggering 39.35 transactions in March 2022, while Arbitrum One achieved 31.64 TPS in the current year.
