The volume of spot trading on the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance fell by 70% due to the return of commissions for trading paired with bitcoin (BTC). At the same time, Binance is not the only exchange that records a decline in activity, many other exchanges have also lost more than 50% of trading activity.
The head of the Gemini crypto exchange, Cameron Winklevoss, criticizes the SEC for refusing to approve a bitcoin ETF. Winklevoss claims that the SEC forced investors to buy "toxic" crypto products. American investors had to buy products with huge commissions and a discount to the price of bitcoin. Investors have switched to unlicensed and unregulated offshore platforms, including FTX.
