One of the largest financial conglomerates in Switzerland has announced plans to release its own collection of non-fungible tokens
Swiss financial giant Credit Suisse will release a collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in collaboration with the local football association. This was reported by the press service of the bank on the official website. Each card in the collection (consisting of 756 NFTs) depicts a representative of the Swiss women's national football team.
The bank will issue tokens on the Ethereum network and launch the sale on July 11. It will be possible to buy NFTs at the start only on CSX, a digital platform from Credit Suisse. However, it is likely that later tokens will appear on secondary markets like OpenSea or Magic Eden.
Tokens will be divided into three categories depending on the bonuses that their owners will receive. The minimum starting price tag of the token will be $167. For it, the NFT owner will be able to get a physical copy of the image. The maximum price tag for CSX will be just over $11,000 per NFT. For such a premium token, NFT holders will have the opportunity to meet with the players of the Swiss women's national football team, but the details and timing of the meeting are not specified.
It is reported that all proceeds from NFT sales will go to the development of women's football in Switzerland. However, the details of the development plan remain unclear. To support the football industry, NFTs were also issued in other countries.
For example, the Ukrainian football club Kryvbas has released an NFT collection of FC KRYVBAS NFT based on the Polygon sidechain. It was claimed that the proceeds from the sale of tokens will go to "a social children's football program and the renovation of destroyed football fields in Ukraine." However, it is still unclear what percentage of sales were directed to the restoration of football fields.
