TON Foundation Teams Up with Alibaba Cloud for Speed Test
The developers at TON Foundation have exciting news for blockchain enthusiasts worldwide. They have announced a strategic collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, a major player in cloud computing services. The primary objective of this partnership is to set up 256 servers, a crucial step in the journey to test and verify the performance of the Open Network (TON).
The Fastest Blockchain Challenge
The Open Network Foundation leadership has officially confirmed the date for the much-anticipated performance test of the public network. This test is scheduled for October 31, 2023, and it aims to demonstrate the reliability, scalability, and speed of the Open Network blockchain, or TON for short. According to official data, since 2022, the blockchain has witnessed exponential growth, with a 20-fold increase in the number of addresses. The count has surged from 170,000 to an impressive 3.5 million addresses.
TON's Growing User Base and Enhanced Decentralization
TON's expanding user base has been accompanied by an increase in validator nodes to 350. This expansion has played a pivotal role in improving the blockchain's decentralization metrics. Throughout the expansion process, TON has maintained a solid reputation, with no major network failures reported officially.
Towards Mass Adoption of Decentralized Technologies
The collaboration between TON Foundation and Telegram, announced on September 13th of this year, underscores the team's commitment to making decentralized technologies more mainstream. The upcoming performance test is seen as a crucial milestone in showcasing the unique capabilities of blockchain as a trusted layer of infrastructure for the Web3 ecosystem within Telegram.
Anatoly Makosov, the Head of Development at TON Foundation, expressed his anticipation for October 31, 2023. He stated, "Our team looks forward to confirming that TON blockchain stands out among competitors, particularly in its scalability. This marks the first large-scale public performance test."
