Arbitrum Launches L3 Networks on Mainnet Using Orbit
Following months of development, the Arbitrum team has announced the readiness of their L3 protocol, Orbit, for use on the main blockchain network. This is a significant milestone for blockchain developers and the community, as it opens up new opportunities for creating customizable blockchain solutions using advanced scaling technologies.
Revolutionary Capabilities of Orbit and Developer Support
Arbitrum has provided access to Orbit, enabling developers to build their own customized chains using advanced scaling technologies. Orbit offers a proven solution for data availability, while maintaining ultra-low transaction costs of less than one cent, without compromising security and trust.
In addition, developers can utilize the Stylus tool, which allows them to create smart contracts using popular programming languages like Rust, C, and C++. This makes the process of smart contract development more accessible and flexible.
An interesting aspect is that the Offchain Labs team highlights that their Nitro technology stack allows changes to be made to the Orbit network without the need for DAO approval. This means that developers can freely enhance the network, expand validation capabilities, combat Miner Extractable Value (MEV), reduce costs, and achieve other goals without unnecessary restrictions.
Developer Support and Rollup-as-a-Service Providers
The teams at Coldera, AltLayer, and Conduit are ready to provide support to developers who wish to deploy their L3 solutions. This means that developers will receive not only technical support but also access to resources that will help them successfully implement their projects based on Orbit.
DAO Arbitrum and Ecosystem Funding
In July, the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) Arbitrum allocated 770 million ARB tokens (approximately $783 million at that time) for ecosystem development. This is a significant step that will help accelerate the development and promotion of projects based on Arbitrum.
Grants for Projects and Community Voting
The community's recent voting, which concluded in October, led to the allocation of grants totaling 49.6 million ARB tokens (approximately $40 million) for 29 projects. This underscores the importance of supporting developers and stimulates innovation within the Arbitrum ecosystem.
