News Description:
According to SlowMist's security analysts, these criminals are now disguising themselves as journalists, targeting digital assets of trusting citizens. On October 14, 2023, a Twitter user named Masiway reported malicious code aimed at the friend.tech website with the intention of stealing user accounts.

Upon analysis by SlowMist's security team, the link sent by the perpetrator contained a JavaScript script. Deceptively, the criminal persuaded users to bookmark it, laying the groundwork for future actions while posing as a crypto journalist.

Another friend.tech user, Double One, also took to Twitter, reporting the theft of his assets on the platform. SlowMist's security team assisted the victim in tracking the movement of assets. Through collaboration with OKX, the stolen funds were successfully intercepted. The experts provided a detailed account of the phishing attacks orchestrated by fake journalists.

These criminals are adept at disguise, portraying themselves as journalists from reputable news agencies, with one even amassing over 10,000 followers on Twitter. Their targets were key opinion leaders (KOL) on friend.tech, enticing them with interview invitations. The perpetrator's Twitter page, with mutual followers, created an illusion of a unified community.

Subsequently, the fake journalist proposed joining a Telegram interview, asking individuals to participate. Afterward, the criminal requested filling out a Google form through a provided link. Clicking on the bookmark with the malicious script automatically granted the criminal access to the victim's passwords and tokens.
