Introduction to Rippled V2.0

The XRP Ledger is undergoing a major overhaul with the introduction of Rippled V2.0. This update brings forth a new version of the API, described by Krippenreiter as a "significant cardinal change." The shift in the registry's operational structure profoundly impacts the processing of requests and responses.

Enhanced Transaction Performance

A key aspect of the update is the improvement in transactions per second (TPS) performance. Krippenreiter notes that several enhancements proposed by Mark Travis will significantly boost consensus stability and throughput. Notably, Ripple's official website recently highlighted an increase in transaction processing speed from 1500 to 3400 transactions per second.

Introduction of New Amendments

The update introduces four new amendments, with XChainBridge being a key addition. Originally presented as "federated sidechains," this revised version by Mayukh Vadari facilitates bidirectional asset connections between registries like XRPL using witness servers. The aim is to enhance the compatibility of XRPL assets across different ledgers.

Other Amendments and Features

Other amendments include the introduction of decentralized independent identification, adjustments to trust line settings (fixDisallowIncomingV1), and improvements in behavior when crossing offers (fixFillOrKill). Another notable feature is the introduction of a new RPC method, developed by Mayukh Vadari and Richard, the technical director of XRPL Labs. This method facilitates data retrieval for a given chain, making it easier for applications to connect within the ecosystem.
