Revelation of the Breach
On November 23, news surfaced about the breach of the KyberSwap Elastic platform, where the hacker was still exploiting vulnerabilities in the protocol's smart contracts. A staggering $47 million worth of various assets were siphoned off, spanning across different blockchains like Arbitrum, Optimism, and Polygon.
Hacker's Intentions
Expressing readiness for negotiations, the hacker highlighted experiencing mostly threats, deadlines, and an overall unfriendly response from the project's leadership. Despite this, the hacker remains open to discussions, having prepared a statement regarding a potential deal, slated for release precisely at noon on November 30, according to UTC.
Recent Communication and Other Breaches
The hacker had previously communicated last week, hinting that negotiations would commence after he has had sufficient rest. Additionally, cryptocurrency exchange HTX (formerly Huobi) and the HECO network reported breaches where unknown entities siphoned off assets worth approximately $110 million. HTX's CEO confirmed the breach.
