Casio, a renowned Japanese electronics brand, has entered the NFT market by launching their unique NFT watch collection called "Virtual G-Shock." This collection consists of 2,000 items, featuring a futuristic design inspired by the well-known Casio model. According to the developers, they decided to bring their ideas to the digital realm because it would be impossible to do so in the physical world.
There are two design options available for the virtual watches: VGA-001 with a "hot air balloon concept" and VGA-002 with a "coil spring concept."
Sales have already begun, and these watches are available for purchase to residents of Japan, the USA, Italy, the UK, and several other countries. The price for a single watch is 0.01 ETH, equivalent to $230 at the current exchange rate.
Owners of Casio's digital watches will also gain access to exclusive behind-the-scenes events hosted by the brand. For instance, they will have the opportunity to tour the G-Shock Endurance Test Laboratory in Tokyo and participate in a panel discussion with designers, who will share insights into the creation of the virtual version of this iconic model.
This move by Casio follows the trend of famous brands entering the NFT space, with companies like Coca-Cola and Warner Bros. launching their NFT collections. The NFT market continues to expand, with even popular TV shows like "The Simpsons" referencing well-known NFT collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club and Beeple in recent episodes.
