In a remarkable occurrence, an Ethereum wallet that had been inactive since its participation in the ICO (Initial Coin Offering) more than eight years ago has reawakened. The wallet's sudden resurgence was detected on January 14, 2024, when an unidentified holder sent 0.01 ETH from the long-forgotten address, as reported by Whale Alert, a cryptocurrency monitoring service.

The dormant wallet held a total of 200 ETH, equivalent to over $500,000 at the time of the transaction. These tokens were originally acquired in July 2015 when the price of 1 ETH was approximately $0.31. The revival of this wallet has left the crypto community speculating about the reasons behind this unexpected activity.

As of the time of writing, Ethereum is trading at around $2,515 according to CoinGecko. This unexpected event has stirred curiosity within the cryptocurrency community, as it follows a similar incident in July 2023 when another ICO participant moved 641 ETH, valued at approximately $1.2 million at that time.
