Bitcoin Advocate Exits Presidential Race

In a surprising turn of events, Vivek Ramaswamy, a vocal supporter of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency industry, has decided to drop out of the race for the presidency in the United States. The decision comes after the conclusion of the first Republican Party primaries in Iowa on January 15, 2024. Despite his efforts, Ramaswamy did not secure a spot among the top three leading candidates.

Supporter of Cryptocurrency

Throughout his campaign, Ramaswamy emphasized his unique understanding of blockchain technology, positioning himself as the only candidate who truly comprehends its workings. He expressed opposition to the integration of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), pledged to reduce taxes on cryptocurrency mining, and criticized the actions of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler.

Controversial Anti-Ukraine Statements

Despite his cryptocurrency advocacy, Ramaswamy faced sharp criticism both internationally and from fellow Democrats due to his controversial statements regarding Ukraine. He made remarks suggesting that the country honors Nazis and suppresses freedom of speech, referring to President Zelensky as a "cargo-pants comedian."

As a result, Ramaswamy's campaign has come to an end, leaving Donald Trump as a prominent candidate in the Republican Party primaries.
