In a recent update on the Gitcoin blog, Ethereum's co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, introduced the Zuzalu QF grant program. This initiative is a direct outcome of the invitation-only retreat held in Montenegro in 2023, where blockchain specialists, cryptographers, and professional investors converged to pool resources for the crypto community.

The Zuzalu QF grant program is scheduled to run from January 15th to February 15th, 2024. The Grants Stack, designed to manage community-contributed finances, will empower participants to determine which individuals and teams should receive support. It also allows them to decide which events and technologies to explore and develop, ultimately contributing to the evolution of the Ethereum ecosystem.

The primary goal for 2024 is to witness a surge in events that will foster the growth of talented developers. Organizers anticipate conducting various social experiments and witnessing the emergence of new technologies that will stimulate digital initiatives.

Zuzalu will collaborate with Gitcoin and utilize the Bitcoin Grants Stack, a proven platform for funding public goods.

According to official data, the Zuzalu QF grant program is divided into two categories. The first category, named the "Events Round," boasts a pool of 166.5 ETH. The second category, "Technology Round," comes with a budget of 83.5 ETH. Startups will receive funding as part of the initiative, and a reassessment will take place at the end of the first half of the year, along with the formulation of a financing plan for the second half.

The combined pool for the first and second quarter programs will be 333 ETH for event-focused projects and 167 ETH for technology-oriented startups. Representatives from the Ethereum Foundation confirmed that a significant portion of these funds was contributed personally by Vitalik Buterin.
