In a recent conference at Duke University, the founder of SkyBridge Capital, Anthony Scaramucci, expressed his belief that the new Trump administration would bring short-term benefits but long-term chaos to cryptocurrency regulation, as reported by Bloomberg. Scaramucci also shared his perspective on Coinbase's ongoing lawsuit with the SEC, stating that the exchange will come out on top, even if it requires taking the case to the Supreme Court.

Scaramucci emphasized the significance of the Coinbase case, predicting a favorable outcome. He said, "Coinbase's case will be crucial, instrumental. I predict we will win this case. And, by the way, we might lose it here. But Brian Armstrong will win it in the Supreme Court. Just look at the composition of the Supreme Court, who is involved, and I believe we will achieve fair digital asset regulation."

Last month, Bloomberg analyst Elliot Stein stated that Coinbase has a 70% chance of winning its motion to dismiss the SEC lawsuit. Stein argued that Coinbase's approach, focusing on investments in the business rather than just the ecosystem, was more appealing and aligned with the proposed definition of an "investment contract."

The SEC initially filed a lawsuit against Coinbase in June 2023, alleging violations of securities laws, including the sale of unregistered securities and operating as an unregistered exchange/brokerage agency.
