Missing Participants Raise Concerns
Developer Yearn Finance, known as @Bantg, has uncovered a startling revelation regarding the Starknet airdrop. Nearly 2,000 participant accounts have mysteriously disappeared from the distribution list.
Starknet Prepares for Launch
@Bantg reported that approximately 2,000 addresses eligible to receive the long-awaited Starknet tokens either changed their account names or deleted them entirely since the snapshot was taken.
Airdrop Hunters Utilize Scripts
Airdrop enthusiasts employ scripts to merge multiple addresses into one. In March 2023, it was discovered that 1496 wallets belonging to such enthusiasts received Arbitrum (ARB) tokens worth $3.38 million, all consolidated into just two addresses.
Developer Identifies Common GitHub IDs
The developer claims that 1175 out of the presumed 1854 renamed accounts share identical historical GitHub identifiers. Excluding these accounts from the snapshot will reduce the number of eligible wallets for the airdrop by 701,544.
Project to Distribute 10 Billion STRK Tokens
The public launch of Starknet is scheduled for February 20. Only wallets that have used the Starknet network more than five times over three months and conducted transactions totaling at least $100 by the end of 2023 will qualify for the STRK airdrop.
Token Distribution Plans
Currently, 10 billion Starknet tokens have been minted and will be distributed among investors, employees, developers, the community, and end-users in September 2024.
