FTX, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has introduced a platform for clients to file claims. However, the prices displayed on this claims portal notably deviate from prevailing market rates.

According to data from Wu Blockchain, the prices listed on the website are as follows: $16,871 for Bitcoin, $1,258 for Ethereum, $16.24 for Solana, and $286 for BNB. These figures mark a significant contrast from current market valuations. At the time of reporting, Bitcoin was trading close to $61,700, while Ethereum hovered around $3,400. Similarly, the prices of Solana and BNB have also experienced appreciation.

FTX's official liquidator has informed creditors of the necessity to submit electronic claims by May 15, 2024. It is anticipated that the initial distribution of funds through the claims portal, overseen by PwC, will occur in late 2024 or early 2025, with all claims denominated in US dollars.

Recall that on December 27, 2023, FTX's debtors filed for bankruptcy in a US court, seeking a "fair and reasonable assessment" of user claims based on market prices as of November 11, 2022.

It is noteworthy that FTX began accepting compensation claims in July 2023.
