Raoul Pal, founder of the analytics company Real Vision, emphasized that cryptocurrencies are twice as fast as the Internet in terms of spread, predicting that by the end of 2025 the number of cryptocurrency users will reach 1 billion people.

Growth rate comparison

Based on Pal's data, it can be seen that the number of internet users grew from 1 million to 187 million in eight years, while the number of cryptocurrency users increased to 516 million during the same period from 2016 to 2024. This suggests that the blockchain industry is growing at a CAGR of 137%, while the Internet is expanding at 76% per year.

The number of cryptocurrency users is projected to grow by 43% annually over the next two years, reaching 1.1 billion by the end of 2025. By comparison, the number of Internet users will only increase to 500 million in ten years. This confirms the doubling of the growth rate of cryptocurrencies compared to the Internet.

Raoul Pal's conclusions

Pal makes this announcement on April 2, when the price of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies was falling. His view is that the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies will lead to an increase in their value in the long term, so it is necessary to remain optimistic despite temporary market fluctuations.
