Oyster Labs has incorporated the latest TON blockchain technology into its latest product, the Universal Basic Smartphone (UBS), offering users access to a decentralized application (dApps) store, cashback at points of sale and the ability to earn money from data.
Creating a crypto smartphone for Telegram users
The UBS mobile device is specially tailored for users of the Telegram ecosystem, providing access to more than 600 dApps through the TON app store. In addition, owners will receive privileges such as cashback at 14,000 retail outlets and the opportunity to earn money on their own data by trading with the project’s native token, UBS Genesis.
Specifications
The smartphone is equipped with a Mediatek Helio P22 processor, 6/128 GB of memory and a 4050 mAh battery. The operating system is Android 10. Additional features include NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and facial recognition technology.
Some users of Platform X (formerly Twitter) criticize the device's characteristics, considering them obsolete. Despite this, the UBS face value is $99, with a $30 shipping fee added. There has been no official confirmation of cooperation from TON yet.
During the announcement of the new device, Toncoin (TON) reached an all-time high of $5.9 with a capitalization of $20.25 billion.
