Mining companies in Paraguay have found an unusual use for their Bitcoin mining equipment by switching to producing dried mangoes using excess thermal energy.
Green Initiative: Reducing Carbon Emissions
According to analyst Magdalena Gronowska (MAGS), this approach can reduce carbon emissions by up to 2.5 tons per megawatt per month by switching to hydropower for the drying process, replacing traditional fossil fuels.
Charitable contribution to Bitcoin Core
A share of 10% of the proceeds from the sale of mangoes goes to the Bitcoin Core developer funds, which demonstrates the social responsibility of the miners and their commitment to the sustainable development of the blockchain community.
Paraguay, which exports a significant portion of its electricity production, is becoming an increasingly attractive region for mining operations, especially with the launch of the country's first green mining farm powered by renewable energy.
