The payment solution for cryptocurrencies Wallet on The Open Network (TON) launches the Wallet Pay function, which allows you to make payments in bitcoins (BTC), Tether (USDT) and Toncoin (TON) in the Telegram messenger.
"The wallet team has introduced a revolutionary payment system Wallet Pay, which allows you to pay for any goods and services with cryptocurrency," the TON team said.
Wallet Pay users can pay for goods and services in cryptocurrency. The new payment feature is already available in most jurisdictions, with the exception of those where cryptocurrency payments for products and services are prohibited.
Users will also be able to fund their cryptocurrency account with a bank card directly during the payment process, which greatly simplifies the use of digital assets. Thus, Wallet Pay will save crypto enthusiasts from having to study complex crypto payment services, reducing the whole procedure to a few clicks in the bot or the merchant's web application in the messenger.
"This is a unique tool that can easily integrate any bot or service into Telegram, giving customers the opportunity to pay in Toncoin, USDT or Bitcoin coins through the messenger interface," the project team said.
The TON Foundation said that the integration will allow sellers to connect to a huge community of Telegram users of more than 700 million people. Users can now try out the public beta version of Wallet Pay through the Wallet Pay bot or apply as a merchant through its website. Further updates on the scalability and availability of the technology are expected soon.
In March, users of the messenger were able to send USDT stablecoin among themselves through the Wallet bot. In addition to the stablecoin, the bot supports Bitcoin and Toncoin. At that time, the wallet was available only for verified messenger accounts linked to a phone number.
Then, in April, the bot added support for buying and selling bitcoin using a bank card through a web interface. Users can buy and sell cryptocurrency through the "Market" section in the web version of the messenger. Among the calculation options are a bank card or peer-to-peer transactions of the p2p market.
