Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a warning to cryptocurrency exchanges against advertising cryptocurrency investments that violate local laws. The commission's deputy secretary-general, Anek Yuyuan, stressed the need to follow the rules and provide honest information to protect the interests of users.

Anti-manipulation and fraud

The regulator expressed concern that crypto exchanges may attract users with false advertising and promises of special privileges. The SEC insists that any advertisement must include appropriate warnings about investment risks so that users have a clear understanding of the possible consequences.

Punishment for violations

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand emphasized that if violations are detected in the field of advertising investments in cryptocurrency, appropriate penalties will be applied in accordance with the laws of the country. These measures are aimed at ensuring transparency and protecting the interests of investors.

Previously, the SEC announced its intention to block the activities of cryptocurrency platforms that do not have permission to operate in the country. This step is carried out in order to protect users from possible manipulations and financial risks associated with illegal transactions and money laundering.
