A group of attackers known as Pink Drainer shocked the crypto community by announcing their intention to stop their attacks after successfully stealing $75 million. According to them, this volume became the target point in their plan, and with this goal they decided to “retire”.
Data Destruction and Infrastructure Termination
Due to the end of their operations, Pink Drainer promises to destroy all stolen data and malware they used for their attacks. They also confirmed that they will not return the stolen assets.
Gratitude and Warning
The hackers expressed gratitude to the crypto community for their trust and respect, but warned that any future attacks or scams related to Pink Drainer will have nothing to do with them.
Analytics and Forecasts
Cybersecurity experts note that Pink Drainer actively moves stolen assets, often converting them into MakerDAO tokens (DAI). They also link the group to several attacks, including the theft of $5 million from lenders FTX and BlockFi, as well as $4.4 million from the owner of LINK tokens in December 2023.
Although Pink Drainer has ended its operations, analysts fear that this will not stop fraudulent schemes in the crypto community. Users need to be vigilant and take precautions to protect their digital assets.
