Since the beginning of the military conflict, Ukraine has been supported by $225 million in cryptocurrency donations. This is reported by analysts at the blockchain firm Crystal Blockchain.
Analysts found that from February to June 2022, Ukraine attracted more than half of the total amount ($135 million). The largest increase in aid was recorded in March 2022: then the country received just under $100 million in crypto. However, starting in 2023, donations to wallets in Ukraine have significantly decreased. The figures for crypto donation inflows in 2023 lag far behind even the weakest month in 2022.
Of the $225 million in cryptocurrency, Ukraine received about $134 million in humanitarian aid. The remaining $91 million in donations went to military support, the report said. Most often, donations were made in the stablecoin tether (USDT), it accounted for about $83 million. In second place ($79 million) is the cryptocurrency ether (ETH), and the top three was closed by bitcoin (BTC) with donations of $41 million Binance - Binance USD (BUSD).
