Warner Bros. will release a limited number of NFT versions of the science fiction film "The Flash" on the Eluvio blockchain platform
The superhero film "The Flash" will receive an NFT version right before it appears on digital services. Warner Bros. announced this in a press release. The non-fungible token will be released on July 18 on the Eluvio platform. The company claims that the NFT will allow fans to "interact in an exciting way with a superhero movie."
It is claimed that as part of the Web3 immersion, viewers will be able to discover exclusive content and behind-the-scenes footage through an interactive menu. Tokens will be offered in two editions: mystical and premium.
The Mystery Edition consists of 10,000 NFTs, and the price of each individual token will be $35. The premium edition will include 2000 NFTs, and the price of the NFT will be $100. The key difference between the editions (in addition to the limited supply) lies in the NFT format: The Mystery Edition depicts static objects on tokens, while the Premium Edition has animated characters. Whether NFT owners will be able to resell them on secondary markets is unclear. However, it follows from Eluvio's description that the blockchain is backward compatible with the Ethereum ecosystem.
For Warner Bros., this is not the first experience of transferring films to "blockchain rails". In October 2021, the American film company released an NFT version of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring". At that time, Eluvio also acted as a partner in the project. The minimum starting price of the token was $30, and for a rare version you had to pay $100. The NFTs themselves represent a looped screensaver for the film's menu in the form of locations of the Shire, Rivendell, and Moria mine.
