Over the year, the damage from hacker attacks from North Korea has decreased by 80%

In 2023, the damage from attacks and fraud by North Korean hackers amounted to $340.4 million, reports the Chainalysis platform. This is 80% less than in 2022.

The indicator set a new low since 2020:

However, the report emphasizes that such dynamics are not a sign of a decrease in criminal activity:

“2022 has set the bar depressingly high.”

The total losses from the actions of North Korean hackers amounted to $3.54 billion. Chainalysis calls North Korea the largest incubator of such groups in the world.

According to the platform, in 2022 its share of total damage was almost half. In 2023 - 29.7%:
