Polygon has announced the launch of a $90 million fund to support the development of its ecosystem. This fund, known as Polygon Village 2.0, will provide significant funding and resources to support various projects within the Polygon ecosystem. As part of this initiative, an integrated support system is also offered, including strategic consultations, mentoring, and opportunities to create venture networks.
Polygon Village 2.0 is an extension of the Polygon 2.0 upgrade released in September. This upgrade aims to create a comprehensive network of interconnected second-layer chains based on zero-knowledge proofs. One of the key elements of the upgrade is the creation of the POL token, which will replace the MATIC token in various functional aspects.
Within Polygon Village 2.0, the initiative is divided into three components:
"Village Grants": This public grant program provides an opportunity for projects at any stage of development to receive financial support. It welcomes projects in various crypto sectors, including DeFi, SocialFi, gaming, and infrastructure.
"Village Build Ideas": This platform helps projects find inspiration and ideas for their developments. With mentorship and access to pre-prepared ideas, this program assists teams in creating fully realized projects.
"Village Startup Support": This program allows startups to apply for vouchers for various services, including smart contract audits and data storage solutions. It also provides an opportunity to interact with technical experts, venture capitalists, and marketers to help startups in their development.
Additionally, Polygon Village includes Village Builder Houses, serving as centers for networking and resource exchange in New York and Lisbon.
This initiative by Polygon opens up broad opportunities for the development of various projects in the world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain. With substantial funding, integrated resources, and support, it encourages innovation and the development of new ideas within the Polygon ecosystem. It also underscores the importance of community support and collaboration in this field.
