Dutch cryptocurrency exchange Txbit is going out of business. The company said that the ambiguity of the legal status of cryptocurrencies in different countries and negative market changes make the further operation of the platform impossible.
“We started our journey with a clear vision, but the current conditions do not allow us to continue it,” the exchange said in a statement.
Access to the exchange website will be open until September 14 at 12:00 UTC. In a statement, Txbit asked customers to withdraw their funds before this time. All assets that remain on the platform after this date will be non-refundable.
The company also announced that within the next few days it is planned to destroy the balance of TXBIT coins that are not in circulation. In total, about 1.5 billion tokens will be burned, which is 95.6559% of the total. In the future, the TXBIT token can be traded on the Pancakeswap decentralized exchange.
At the time of writing, TXBIT is trading at $0.0046 and has lost roughly 81% in price over the past 24 hours, according to Coinmarketcap.
